Jonathan Holiday School
This ongoing project supports trauma-aware education at the Jonathan Holiday School in North Kivu, DRC. Many of the students have experienced displacement, conflict, loss of family members and other traumas.
Working in collaboration with Stanford and building on a colleague’s initial research, I designed classroom-based mental health activities that help reduce PTSD as a barrier to learning.
The activities are created for educators in low-resource settings and the children they support. Materials are paper-based, tech-free, and designed to be joyful, therapeutic, and easy to integrate into the school day. They were tested with Congolese teachers and refined through their feedback.
